These Glassy Fruit Are On View

by FLO OY WONG & ALAINA GUPTA

I really don’t like fruit,

Whether from tree, bush, or root.

Some taste okay, I suppose.

But, others are just gross.

We are looking at art.

These fruit are not really tart.

They are beautiful in their curves.

I like how they verve.

Perhaps, these pretty fruit lack taste,

But, I’d push them away in haste.

They look glossy and delightful, it’s true.

But, I still don’t like fruit.

What about their shapes?

How do they hold together without tape?

What did these sculptors do,

To make these delectable shapes so true?

I see all the majestic curves.

Their pulsing bright colors send

shivers to my nerves.

I’ll have you know, I still don’t like fruit.

But, these fruit are splendid, that’s true.

I hear you. I hear you.

These glassy fruit are on view.

You can like/not like fruit on display.

Just think, just think of what they portray.
